Welcome to CARCD and Carbon Cycle Institute's San Joaquin Valley Natural Resources Hub Program

The SJV Natural Resources Hub Program is a new initiative being managed by the Carbon Cycle Institute (CCI) in partnership with the California Association of Resource Conservation Districts (CARCD) within the  San Joaquin Valley Region under CARCD, (formerly known as Area 9).  Tranquillity RCD is a member of the Advisory Group for this exciting leading edge initiative that is addressing in a pragmatic way the challenges of climate change and the impacts to ranchers, farmers, workers and rural communities within our region.  This effort is being coordinated by Alexandria Miranda along with Noah Link as the Carbon Farm Planner.  This is the link for more information of the statewide program under CARCD

Tranquillity has embraced the Hub's purpose and mission, which is being led by Jeevan Singh, Senior Technical Assistance Provider and TAP Service Manager under the District's Sustainable Lands Initiative (SLI).

Much of what Tranquillity is attempting to acheive is known as "Integrated Natural Resources Management" (INRM) while driving towards sustainability and resiliency in agriculture in the face of climate change -- and ultimately the betterment of the rural farming communities. INRM and plan development is rather limited and in reality a fragmented and not fully developed holistic approach of managing the inherent "Natural Capital" that societies are dependent upon.  Additionally, concepts and emerging practices expressed as  "Regerative Agriculture" and "Biocircular Economy" are being by the California Department of Agriculture (CDFA) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). However, INRM, NC and Regenerative Ag are purposely being embellished in Tranquillity's Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Action Plan being developed for the Agricultural Economy and Workforce of the Future as funded by the California Strategic Growth Council (SGC).
