Sustainable Agriculture and Meeting the Challenges
Tranquillity RCD is focused with the goal of supporting all farmers and ranchers successfully while working towards the twin goals of resiliency and sustainability well into the future, and for the benefit of the communities where they and farmworkers reside. The following are programs and initiatives underway which are focused on meeting the challenges associated within the area of sustainable agriculture.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has established the Office of Agricultural Resilience and Sustainability known as OARS. This initiative is promoting the ability for farmers and ranchers to sustain their operations in the face of a multitude of challenges, of which 80% are classified as small producers with the average size of their operations is less than 100 acres.
CDFA has what is known as the Farmer Resource Portal that provides information and assistance directed towards farmers and ranchers.

The University of California's Agriculture and Natural Resources Program also known as UC-ANR has a program known as SAREP - Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program for those who would to further explore the possibilities of enhancing their farming and ranching operations.
