Under the California Department of Food and Agriculture - CDFA is the extremely important Farm to Fork Program.  For many residents of our rural communities, access to nutritious foods can be very difficult to obtain locally.  These communities exist in what are called food deserts.  Under the USDA's Economic Research Service (ERS) website the Food Access Research Atlas is available that further defines what and where those challenges are.
