Patricia Hickey

Patricia is working closely with the Executive Director to further provide extensive program management and development support to Tranquillity RCD and the San Joaquin Valley Region. Additionally, Patricia is working in close consultations with the ED relevant to the California Strategic Growth Council under their Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program and other district initiatives. This includes providing her expertise in an advisory capacity to the ED that supports Tranquillity's participation in important committees of the California Association of Resource Conservation Districts (CARCD) -- including the Water Committee and Land & Soils Committee. Additionally, Patricia has extensive and broad exposure to Carbon Farm Plan (CFP) methologies including those developed during her tenure at the Carbon Cycle Institute (CCI).
During Patricia's stellar career, she has worked at senior levels for universities, resource conservation districts, and agricultural land trusts to advance natural resource conservation and the development and adoption of innovative conservation programs. She has served in senior management roles for the Washington State Association of Conservation Districts, the Mendocino County Resource Conservation District, the Gold Ridge Resource Conservation District, Marin Agricultural Land Trust, and more recently as the Managing Director of the Carbon Cycle Institute.
She brings 20-years of experience working with the agricultural community, county government, and state and federal natural resource agency partners on climate adaptation and mitigation in California. Patricia received her MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from Dominican University of CA, Master’s degrees in Environmental Science & Management, and Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island, and a BA in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
